The Chilean-American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) was founded in Valparaíso in 1918 with the mission of promoting free trade and business between the United States and Chile.
It presently provides its associates with a variety of benefits, including practical assistance for their business and lobbying representation before the appropriate Chilean or U.S. authorities.
AmCham has become a driving force in promoting bilateral trade between Chile and the United States.
AmCham has almost 700 member companies and represents 90% of US investment in Chile.

AmCham had a very important role in the free trade negotiations between Chile and the United States to successfully conclude the free trade agreement.
Through its association with the American Association of Chambers of Commerce in Latin America (AACCLA), AmCham serves as a link between the Chilean and US private sectors.
In the United States, AmCham formed part of a coalition between the US Chamber, the National Association of Manufacturers, the Business Roundtable, and the Council of the Americas, with the objective of providing information on the advantages of the Free Trade Agreement for US business to the members of Congress.
At the same time, with the US Chamber, AmCham participated actively in the “Traderoots” program, which had the goal of providing small and medium-sized companies with information regarding the advantages of the Free Trade Agreement with Chile for them.

The Chamber provides its members with various options for obtaining information about the business opportunities and current events in Chile and the United States relevant to members’ interests.
Through the use of committees, seminars, and a monthly breakfast series, AmCham offers programs that allow members to discuss topics and obtain valuable information related to their business and professional development.
In addition, AmCham sponsors social events that allow members to expand their professional network, such as “Business After Hours”, sporting events, and trade missions.

AmCham provides its members with practical assistance for their business, developing economic reports and giving advice on trade issues.
Additionally, members can benefit from special benefits and preferential treatment through AmCham’s various partnerships.
