How motions will be selected

The debate planning committee will propose a list of motions from which all future debate motions will be randomly selected. Motions will span social, political, environmental, and economic topics. Each team will have the opportunity to veto any motion that appears on the list that they would not be willing to debate. Once the list has been finalized, debate motions will be chosen, with a notary present, at random two weeks before each debate. At this time, each team will receive both a motion and a stance (FOR or AGAINST).
