El 11 de septiembre, los miembros del Consejo Empresarial Chile - EEUU sobre Energía se reunieron en AmCham para discutir su agenda de mediano y largo plazo. Los grupos de trabajo, coordinados por el secretario ejecutivo, Rafael Lorenzini, están enfocados en las siguientes áreas claves: financiamiento, capital humano, marco regulatorio, infraestructura y tecnología, eficiencia energética y energías renovables no convencionales.

Los miembros también revisaron la participación del Consejo en el desarrollo de la estrategia nacional de energía de Chile. El Consejo, creado en octubre del año pasado por AmCham, apunta a promover oportunidades de negocios en energías limpias y eficiencia energética junto con dar respaldo al desarrollo sustentable del sector.

Junto con la asistencia del presidente de AmCham, Javier Irarrázaval, y su director ejecutivo, Rodrigo Ballivián, la reunión contó con la participación de Rafael Lorenzini, secretario ejecutivo de los Consejos Empresariales de AmCham; Felipe Cerón, gerente general de AES Gener y tesorero de AmCham; Roberto Troncoso, gerente de administración y finanzas del Centro de Energías Renovables de Chile (CER); y Gibran Harcha, gerente general de Grupo GPS, firma que controla Inversiones Alsacia, concesionaria de buses del sistema de transporte público Transantiago.

On September 11, the US-Chile Business Council on Energy met at AmCham to discuss its short and medium-term agenda. The Council’s working groups, coordinated by Executive Secretary Rafael Lorenzini, are focused in the following main areas: finance, human capital, regulatory framework, infrastructure and technology, energy efficiency and non-conventional renewable energies.

The Council has been strengthened by the incorporation of representatives from the public sector, including from the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of the Environment, as well as executives from companies involved in energy supply and demand. On the demand side, this includes Alsacia, a bus concessionaire of the Transantiago transport system, and the Chilean Association of Fuel Distributors (ADICO).

The meeting was attended by AmCham’s president, Javier Irarrázaval; managing director for the Walt Disney Company for the andean region and AmCham's President, Rodrigo Ballivián, AmCham's executive director; Felipe Cerón, CEO of AES Gener and AmCham’s treasurer; Roberto Troncoso, manager of administration and finance at Chile’s Renewable Energies Center (CER); Gibran Harcha, CEO of
Grupo GPS which controls Alsacia; and Yorma Páez, assistant to the board at ADICO.
