En un 33% aumentó el comercio entre Chile y EE.UU. durante primer año de vigencia del tratado de libre comercio, de acuerdo a un estudio de AmCham. Esta cifra supera en un 3% las expectativas generales que pronosticaban un aumento de 30% en el comercio bilateral en el mediano plazo.

Bilateral trade between Chile and the United States increased by 33% last year, according to a study by AmCham. This followed the implementation of the Chile-U.S. Free Trade Agreement in January 2004. Chile’s exports to the U.S. - its main trading partner - were up by almost 32%, reaching US$ 4,569 million, while imports from the U.S., at US$ 3,377 million, showed an increase of almost 36%.
