En noviembre pasado, Movistar anunció el lanzamiento de su red móvil de cuarta generación (4G) en todo el país. La red permite a todos los clientes del servicio acceder a una serie de servicios online y descargar datos a velocidades hasta 10 veces más rápidas que con la red 3G.

Este año la compañía aspira a duplicar el área de cobertura de la red, que utiliza la banda de 2.600 MHz. La red busca responder especialmente a las necesidades móviles de los jóvenes en Chile.

"En todas las regiones de Chile podrán disfrutar de la nueva tecnología 4G, ese es nuestro diferenciador. Tenemos el compromiso de poner al servicio del país la mejor oferta en conectividad”, afirmó el gerente general de Movistar Chile, Roberto Muñoz.

Last November Movistar announced the launch of its fourth generation (4G) cellular network across the country. The network allows clients to access a range of services online and download data at speeds reaching up to 10 times faster than with the 3G network.

This year the company aims to double the area of coverage of the network, which uses the 2,600 MHz band. The network is especially aimed at meeting the cellular needs of young people in Chile.

"You can enjoy the new 4G technology in all regions of Chile, and that's what sets us apart from the competition. We are committed to offering the best connectivity in the country,” said Movistar Chile CEO Roberto Muñoz.
