In May, AmCham hosted a breakfast with a group of businesspeople from Florida to provide a networking opportunity with Chilean businesspeople and entrepreneurs.
David Hart, vice-president of the Florida Chamber of Commerce, and Manny Mencía, vice-president of the state’s economic development agency, Enterprise Florida, spoke about why Florida is an excellent state to do business with and a doorway into the U.S. market.
AmCham President Javier Irarrázaval discussed the importance of Florida for the Chilean business community, especially given its common business culture. Of all U.S. states, Florida exports the second highest volume of goods, mainly machinery and manufactured products, to Chile, and is the fifth largest importer of Chilean goods, mainly salmon and copper but also wine and fruit.
