International Trade & Business Committee

On July 14, AmCham’s International Trade & Business Committee met to hear Osvaldo Rosales, director of the International Trade and Integration Division at the UN’s Economic Commission for Latin America (ECLAC), give a talk entitled “Chile, the Region and the United States: Policies and Trade Perspectives.”

Rosales noted that China, with its huge market and demand for natural resources, is becoming an important trade partner for Latin America, but the United States and Europe can also promote trade in the region by creating greater commercial ties and supporting the expansion of the Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership.
