Important Deadlines

18 Octubre 2006
Greetings Jessup teams! As the Competition Season is now well underway, we hope you are enjoying yourselves as you research the problem and begin to write your Memorials. Please note the following important items:

1. Clarifications – Due October 20

Requests for clarification on the Compromis are due Friday, October 20. Remember that every team is allowed to request clarification on any aspect of the Compromis. These requests will be reviewed by the authors of the problem, who have complete discretion in deciding which requests for clarification will be answered. ILSA will release the official Clarifications on Monday, November 6. Requests for clarification should be mailed to [email protected] by 11:59pm, your university time, on Friday, October 20.

2. Basic Materials – Week of October 30

Please note that ILSA plans to release the first batch of Basic Materials during the week of October 30. The Basic Materials are a collection of research resources designed to ensure that all teams, regardless of budget and access to information, start from the same position. An email notice will be issued to notify teams when the Basic Materials have been posted to the ILSA website.

3. Team Registration – Due November 17

The deadline for Non-U.S. Team Registration is November 17. All Non-U.S. teams must be registered and paid by that date. For more information on how to register, see www.ilsa.org/jessup/registration.shtml.

If your team has already registered on-line and you would like to add or change your team information, please do not register online again. All updates (e.g., names of team members) should be submitted via email to [email protected].

In certain exceptional circumstances, ILSA will consider waiving a team’s registration fee. Requests for waivers will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and will be granted only upon a demonstration of need. Teams must formally apply for a waiver by filling out and submitting the 2007 Waiver Application Form, which can be found at www.ilsa.org/jessup.
Completed applications should be submitted to the ILSA Executive Office by email at [email protected] or by fax at +1 (312) 362-5073.

4. Names of Team Members – Due December 30

The members of your teams must be selected and their names submitted to ILSA by December 30. Names of team members can be sent via email to [email protected].

5. Access to Research Databases

All non-U.S. teams qualify for free access to the online research services of LexisNexis and Westlaw. Non-U.S. teams from countries with limited resources also qualify for free access to HeinOnline. Please note that teams must register before they can receive passwords. (This requires registration of team information, but registration fees can be paid at a later date before the registration deadline.) All requests for passwords should be sent to [email protected].

If you have any questions about the above items, please email [email protected].

Good luck!
