[:es]En el Seminario Internacional de REP: Análisis de la Experiencia Comparada, evento organizado por AmCham Chile junto al Consejo Chile-California, diversos expertos nacionales y extranjeros reflexionaron en torno a los desafíos de la nueva Ley de Responsabilidad Extendida al Productor (REP).

En la actividad, que contó con el auspicio de DIRECTTV y Recupac, se abordó la oferta de servicios de recolección segregada para aumentar las tasas de reciclaje, el análisis de la experiencia en reciclaje y transporte de residuos, el considerar el medio ambiente como un ámbito clave en la gestión de negocio y la importancia de considerar los efectos medioambientales en el diseño de nuevos productos.



La actividad contó con la presencia del Subsecretario del Medio Ambiente, Marcelo Mena, y de la Deputy Director del Servicio de Medio Ambiente de la Municipalidad de San José, California, Joanne Zientek, así como representantes del sector privado.[:en]At the International REP Seminar: Analysis of the Comparative Experience, an event organized by AmCham Chile in conjunction with the Chile California Council, numerous Chilean and foreign experts reflected on the challenges posed by the new Extended Producer Responsibility Act (known as the REP Act, by its Spanish acronym).

During the event, which was sponsored by DIRECTV and Recupac, notable issues addressed included the supply of segregated collection services to increase recycling rates, an analysis of recycling and waste transportation experiences, taking account of the environment as a key aspect in business management, and the importance of taking environmental impacts into consideration in the design of new products.



The seminar was attended by the Undersecretary of the Environment, Marcelo Mena, and the Deputy Director for the City of San Jose's Environmental Services Department in California, Joanne Zientek, in addition to private sector representatives.[:]
