[:es]La Cámara Chileno Norteamericana de Comercio, AmCham Chile, organizó el Bootcamp de Biotecnología, The Elevator Pitch, que se realizó los días 13 y 14 de junio en Puerto Montt y que tuvo por objetivo apoyar emprendimientos de base científica, a través de la entrega de guías y habilidades necesarias para convertir proyectos en negocios. El evento se realizó en el marco de Look North Biotech, programa para emprendedores con proyectos de base científica que impulsa la Cámara.

El encuentro contó con la conducción y entrenamiento de Nancy Levy, fundadora de BioHealth Management, LLC, empresa consultora dedicada al desarrollo de negocios y estrategias de comercialización del área científica. La experta enseñó estrategias de ventas para emprendedores vinculados a
dicho sector, de distintas zonas del país, con iniciativas centradas en recursos naturales y ciencias de la vida.

La coordinadora de este bootcamp y Chief Operating Officer de AmCham Chile, Lorena Palomo, destacó que el objetivo de esta iniciativa se centró en “promover la vinculación de los proyectos de base científica en las cadenas globales de valor con foco en comercialización. Para ello, es clave vincular y familiarizar a los emprendedores con el mercado estadounidense, líder en innovación y biotecnología. Este bootcamp fue una primera iniciativa en la que se abordaron técnicas básicas de entrenamiento para presentar un elevator pitch a venture capitals (fondos de inversión para proyectos en etapas tempranas) estadounidenses. Lo anterior, para elaborar un resumen ejecutivo de propuesta de valor de los proyectos”.[:en]The Chilean-American Chamber of Commerce, AmCham Chile, has organized the Biotechnology Boot Camp, The Elevator Pitch, from 13-14 June in Puerto Montt. The aim of the event was to support entrepreneurial projects relating to science by providing them with guidance and the necessary skills to transform their ideas into businesses. It formed part of the Look North Biotech Challenge, a scheme for entrepreneurs with scientific-based projects promoted by the Chamber.

The event was led by Nancy Levy, founder of BioHealth Management, LLC, a consultancy firm specializing in business development and marketing strategies in the field of science. The expert provided training on marketing strategies for entrepreneurs linked to this sector, from different parts of the country, with initiatives focusing on natural resources and life sciences.

Coordinator of the boot camp and Chief Operating Officer of AmCham Chile, Lorena Palomo, explained that the aim of the initiative was, “to promote the linkage of science-based projects in global value chains with a focus on marketing. As such, it is crucial to link and familiarize the entrepreneurs with the US market, the leader in terms of innovation and biotechnology. This boot camp was the first initiative to cover basic training techniques for submitting elevator pitches to American venture capitalists (investment funds for projects in their infancy stage). This included how to devise an executive summary which outlines the value proposition of each project”.[:]
