La obra audiovisual “Aserruchado” de los realizadores Felipe Sepúlveda y Maximiliano Aránguiz obtuvo el premio al mejor nanometraje de la primera versión del concurso “Tu Creación Vale”, iniciativa que tiene por objetivo promover entre los jóvenes la importancia de la propiedad intelectual en la protección de la innovación y creatividad. 

El reconocimiento entregado por la Cámara Chileno Norteamericana de Comercio, AmCham Chile, con el apoyo de Fox International Latin American, CineHoyts, VTR, Arauco y DirectTV, consideró como factores de evaluación la propuesta visual del nanometraje, así como su mensaje dirigido a la protección de la propiedad intelectual y cómo ésta influye en el trabajo de creativos y autores de cualquier manifestación artística e intelectual. Los realizadores premiados recibieron un pasaje a Estados Unidos, donde sostendrán encuentros con entidades de la industria audiovisual, gracias al apoyo de la U.S. Chamber of Commerce. A ello se suma la difusión del trabajo premiado en canales FOX, VTR y algunas pantallas de CineHoyts. Durante la actividad también se entregó una mención honrosa a la obra ““Nace una idea”, del realizador Cristián Amunátegui. 

La presidenta de AmCham Chile, Kathleen Barclay, destacó que “desde nuestro rol de entidad gremial, asumimos la responsabilidad de abordar el cuidado de la propiedad intelectual desde un prisma positivo e incentivando la educación en torno al tema. Ello porque creemos que el mayor conocimiento de las oportunidades que ofrece la correcta gestión y respeto de la propiedad intelectual, beneficiará a creadores, investigadores, empresas, emprendedores y, en general, a toda la sociedad, redundando en la formación de un país con mayores recursos tecnológicos y económicos, y más competitivo en el mundo globalizado”. 

En la ceremonia conducida por el actor Francisco Pérez-Bannen, el cineasta chileno Alan Fischer se refirió a su experiencia como artista audiovisual en nuestro país y en Estados Unidos.

The audiovisual work made by filmmakers Felipe Sepúlveda and Maximiliano Aránguiz, “Aserruchado”, has won best short film at the first staging of the “Tu Creación Vale” contest. This competition is an initiative to promote the importance of intellectual property in protecting innovation and creativity among young persons.   

The prize was awarded by the Chilean American Chamber of Commerce, AmCham Chile, with the support of Fox International Latin American, CineHoyts, VTR, Arauco and DirecTV. Judges considered a number of factors in reaching their final decision. Key among these were the visual proposals of each short film, as well as their messages about protecting intellectual property and how this influences the work of creators and authors across all artistic and intellectual expressions. The winning filmmakers received tickets to the United States, where they will hold a number of meetings with figures from the audiovisual industry, thanks to the support of the US Chamber of Commerce. In addition, their winning short film will be shown on FOX and VTR channels, as well as in certain CineHoyts cinemas. During the award ceremony, an honorable mention was also made of “Nace una idea”, from the filmmaker Cristián Amunátegui. 

The President of AmCham Chile, Kathleen Barclay, said that “from our position as a trade association, we assume the responsibility of positively safeguarding and incentivizing education with regards to intellectual property. This is because we believe a sound knowledge of the opportunities afforded by the good management of, and respect for, intellectual property will benefit creators, researchers, businesses, entrepreneurs and, in general, society as a whole. This, in turn, will lead to the creation of a country with greater technological and economic resources and improved competitiveness in a globalized world”. 

During the ceremony, which was hosted by actor Francisco Pérez-Bannen, the Chilean filmmaker Alan Fischer shared his past experience as an audiovisual artist, both in Chile and the United States.
