CorpBanca será el primer banco en Chile en ofrecer el seguro de títulos luego de suscribir un contrato con FAF International, filial de la firma con sede en California First American Corp.

Este tipo de seguro, usado en transacciones de propiedad, protege a los compradores y al emisor de su hipoteca durante el período comprendido entre la adquisición de la póliza de seguro y el registro oficial del cambio de dominio de la propiedad además de contra cualquier posible defecto en los correspondientes títulos.

“Es una gran oportunidad para masificar en Chile, un sistema que traerá grandes beneficios para los bancos y clientes hipotecarios”, indicó la gerenta general de FAF International, Barbara Locke.

CorpBanca will be the first bank in Chile to offer title insurance after signing a contract with FAF International, a subsidiary of California-based First American Corp.

This type of insurance, used in property transactions, covers buyers and their mortgage lenders during the period between the acquisition of the insurance policy and official registration of the change in a property’s ownership as well as against any possible defects in the corresponding titles.

“This is a great opportunity to make this type of insurance, which brings benefits for banks and house buyers, more widely available in Chile,” said FAF International CEO Barbara Locke.
