El 10 de febrero, James M. Roberts, Research Fellow for Economic Freedom and Growth del centro de estudios estadounidense The Heritage Foundation, realizó una presentación en las oficinas de AmCham sobre el Índice de Libertad Económica de esa fundación. Chile se ubicó en el lugar número 11 a nivel mundial en la versión 2010 y ocupó el primer lugar de Sudamérica.

Roberts, quien trabajó en la elaboración del índice que es publicado conjuntamente por The Wall Street Journal, hizo énfasis en la importancia de la libertad económica para la prosperidad y el desarrollo de Chile. Antes de unirse a The Heritage Foundation en el 2007, Roberts trabajó en el Departamento de Estado de Estados Unidos por 25 años, cumpliendo servicio en embajadas de México, Portugal, Francia, Panamá y Haití.

On February 10, James Roberts, the Research Fellow for Economic Freedom and Growth at U.S. think-tank The Heritage Foundation, gave a presentation at AmCham’s offices about the foundation’s Index of Economic Freedom. Chile ranked 11th in the world in the 2010 version and top in South America.

Roberts, who worked on the Index that was co-published by The Wall Street Journal, emphasized the importance of economic freedom for Chile’s prosperity and development. Before joining the Heritage Foundation in 2007, Roberts worked for the U.S. State Department for 25 years, serving at embassies in Mexico, Portugal, France, Panama and Haiti.
