En el marco de su XV Aniversario, el servicio de bibliotecas públicas Bibliometro de Metro de Santiago recibió una colección de libros en inglés donados por la Embajada de Estados Unidos en Chile como parte del proyecto Bicentennial Library. Los libros se prestarán en la nueva sucursal de Bibliometro en la estación de metro Irarrázaval. Magdalena Krebs, directora de la Dirección de Bibliotecas, Archivos y Museos (DIBAM), presentó los libros al presidente de Metro Santiago, Raphael Bergoeing, en la inauguración de la sucursal realizada en julio.

Encabezado por AmCham en alianza con el Instituto Chileno-Norteamericano de Cultura y la Embajada de Estados Unidos, el proyecto Bicentennial Library aspira a promover la lectura y el idioma inglés a través de las bibliotecas públicas de Chile.

On its 15th anniversary, the Bibliometro public library service of the Santiago metro received a collection of English-language books donated by the US Embassy as part of the Bicentennial Library project. The books will be loaned out by the new Bibliometro branch in the Irarrázaval metro station. Magdalena Krebs, executive director of DIBAM, presented the books to the president of Metro Santiago, Raphael Bergoeing, at the inauguration of the branch in July.

Led by AmCham in partnership with the Chile-North American Cultural Institute and the US Embassy, the Bicentennial Library project aims to promote reading and English through public libraries in Chile.
