El 14 de agosto, el Ministerio de Desarrollo Social de Chile distinguió a Anglo American con el Premio Más por Chile por tres programas de responsabilidad social de la compañía dirigidos a dueños de pequeñas empresas y a educación.

El presidente Sebastián Piñera asistió a la ceremonia junto con ejecutivos de Anglo American. El programa Más por Chile busca promover alianzas entre el sector público y el privado que alienten la integración social de las personas más vulnerables del país.

“Para Anglo American es motivo de gran orgullo recibir esta distinción de parte del Gobierno de Chile, pues reconoce el esfuerzo que hacemos a diario por tener iniciativas de inversión social que sean, efectivamente, sustentables en el tiempo e impliquen una mejor calidad de vida para las comunidades cercanas a nuestras operaciones“, sostuvo Felipe Purcell, vicepresidente de Asuntos Corporativos de Anglo American.

On August 14, Chile’s Ministry of Social Development presented Anglo American with the More for Chile (Más por Chile) Award for three of the company’s social responsibility programs that target small business owners and education.

President Sebastián Piñera attended the ceremony along with Anglo American executives. The More for Chile program seeks to promote public-private sector partnerships that encourage the social integration of the most vulnerable people in the country.

“It is a great honor to receive this distinction from the government of Chile because it recognizes our daily effort to promote social initiatives which are sustainable over time and improve the quality of life for the communities near our operations,” said Felipe Purcell, vice-president of corporate affairs at Anglo American.
