La Cámara Chilena Norteamericana de Comercio (AmCham Chile), junto a la Corporación de Desarrollo Económico de Texas, realizaron el seminario “Doing Business with Texas”, en el marco de la visita al país de una misión comercial, liderada por la Secretaria de Estado de Texas, Nandita Berry. En la oportunidad, se dieron a conocer las oportunidades e incentivos para el desarrollo de inversiones y emprendimientos en dicho estado.

La presidenta de AmCham Chile, Kathleen Barclay, inauguró el encuentro, destacando que si Texas fuera un país, ocuparía el lugar 13 en el ranking de economías a nivel mundial. De esta manera dimensionó la importancia de Texas y las oportunidades de negocios que presenta para los chilenos.

Por su parte, la Secretaria Perry destacó que Texas es el principal estado exportador de Estados Unidos y que ha sido reconocido por importantes publicaciones por su economía y desarrollo de negocios. “Tenemos el mejor modelo de negocios de Estados Unidos”, resaltó.

Asimismo, explicó que Texas es una economía que ofrece grandes oportunidades para hacer negocios, principalmente, por su baja tasa impositiva (en el contexto estadounidense), porque no tiene impuestos a las personas, por una buena e inteligente normativa y por su gran fuerza de trabajo, impulsada por importantes inversiones en educación.

The Chilean-American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Chile), in conjunction with the Texas Economic Development Corporation, has staged the seminar “Doing Business with Texas”. The event formed part of the Corporation’s business mission to Chile and was led by Texas Secretary of State, Nandita Berry. Proceedings covered opportunities and incentives for investment and start-ups in the southern US state.

During her opening remarks, AmCham Chile President Kathleen Barclay explained that if Texas were a country, it would be the thirteenth largest economy in the world. A clarification such as this helped to convey the importance of Texas and the business opportunities it presents to Chileans.

Secretary Perry highlighted Texas as the leading state for exports in the US. She noted its widespread recognition by important publications in terms of its economy and business development, stating “we have the best business model in the United States”.

Likewise, she explained that Texas is an economy offering excellent business opportunities, especially due to its low tax rate (within the US context). This is because the state has no individual income tax, in addition to having robust and smart regulation and a large work force, driven by significant investment in education.
