En noviembre, AmCham auspició conjuntamente con KPMG y la Universidad de Chile un almuerzo para el Capítulo Chileno de Women Corporate Directors (WCD). Stephen Davis, profesor de Harvard y experto en gobierno corporativo, fue uno de los invitados al evento, que tuvo como anfitriona a la presidenta de la Cámara, Kathleen Barclay.

El doctor Davis y los asistentes al evento tuvieron la oportunidad de tener una conversación respecto de las tendencias globales en gobierno corporativo. El catedrático puso énfasis en la importancia de promover la diversidad de pensamiento en los directorios dados los temas cada vez más complejos y globales que enfrentan. El doctor Davis aprovechó además la oportunidad para analizar los crecientes niveles de activismo de los accionistas en todo el mundo y la necesidad de que los directorios sean receptivos y estén atentos a este tema. Los asistentes al almuerzo analizaron sus propias experiencias en estas y otras áreas, intercambiando puntos de vista directamente con el doctor Davis.

In November, AmCham co-sponsored a luncheon with KPMG and the University of Chile for the Chilean branch of Women Corporate Directors (WCD). Stephen Davis, a Harvard professor and expert on corporate governance, was a guest at the event, which was hosted by AmCham President Kathleen Barclay.

Dr. Davis and the attendees had the opportunity to have an off-the-record conversation regarding global trends in corporate governance. Dr. Davis emphasized the importance of promoting diversity of thinking in boards given the ever more complex and global issues they face. He also took the opportunity to discuss increasing levels of shareholder activism around the world and the need for boards of directors to be responsive and attentive to this topic. Luncheon participants discussed their own experiences in these areas, as well as others, exchanging views directly with Dr. Davis.
