The Final Round of the Third Annual Great Corporate Debate 2009 took place on Monday August 31, 2009 in the Salon Jose María Aznar in the Universidad Andres Bello. Seguros Interamericana won the debate. The motion was: the UF should be abolished. Central de Restaurantes - Aramark argued in favor of the motion and Seguros Interamericana defended it. The Seguros Interamericana team included: Luis Novelo, Sebastián Trivelli, Teresa Ripamonti and Germán Gaymer. Teresa Ripamonti was voted best debater, a title she had already won on a previous occasion. The Central de Restaurantes - Aramark team included: Roxanna Gomez, Marcelo Bravo, Juan Pablo Contreras and Alejandro Simon.
The panel of judges was very distinguished and included five judges: the U.S. Ambassador to Chile, Paul Simons, AmCham's Past President, Mateo Budinich, Member of the Board of the Centro Cultural Palacio de la Moneda, Drina Rendic, Chile's Special Envoy to the OECD, Karen Poniachik and the Associate Editor of La Tercera, Marco Antonio González. Michael Combes, the Executive Director of Marco Chilean, moderated the debate.
