En mayo y junio, los equipos que compiten en la versión 2013 del Gran Debate Corporativo participaron en clases de oratoria dictadas por el consultor en educación Stephen Buchanan en las oficinas de AmCham. El curso se dividió en seis sesiones.

Buchanan instruyó a los “alumnos” sobre habilidades orales y fundamentos del debate. Finalmente los participantes realizaron ejercicios para poner en práctica lo aprendido. Los equipos que compiten este año son: Walmart, Metlife, Bechtel, Maersk, Santander, DHL, Academia Diplomática de Chile Andrés Bello y Goodyear.

En junio se realizará la etapa de Round Robin, primeras competencias del torneo, mientras que la final se realizará el 8 de agosto en las oficinas del diario El Mercurio, coauspiciador del torneo junto con AmCham.

In May and June the teams competing in the 2013 version of The Great Corporate Debate took part in a public speaking course given by education consultant Stephen Buchanan at AmCham’s offices. The course was divided into six sessions.

Buchanan instructed the students on public speaking skills and the debate rules. Finally, the participants practiced what they had learned. The teams competing this year are from: Walmart, Metlife, Bechtel, Maersk, Santander, DHL, Diplomatic Academy of Chile Andrés Bello and Goodyear.

The Round Robin stage of the tournament will begin in June, with the final to be held on August 8 at the offices of El Mercurio, which is a co-sponsor of the competition along with AmCham.
