Mark Twain said the only things certain in life are death and taxes. Twain was well-known for holding elected officials in low regard -- "Suppose you were an idiot. Suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself." -- so he wouldn't be surprised to learn that our elected officials have found a way to combine the two things he despised most - it's called the death tax.
