El 14 de enero, el Consejo Empresarial Chile - Estados Unidos sobre Energía celebró una charla abierta con los presidentes y coordinadores de sus siete grupos de trabajo. El objetivo de la reunión fue dar a conocer las propuestas de los diferentes grupos para abordar los desafíos en cada una de estas áreas. Cerca de 40 socios de la Cámara asistieron al evento.

Rafael Lorenzini, secretario ejecutivo del Consejo, fue el moderador de la charla, que tuvo como oradores a Carlos Finat, Grupo Energías Renovables No Convencionales; Germán Silva, Grupo Energía, Sociedad y Medioambiente; Víctor Ballivián, Grupo Eficiencia Energética; Sebastián Flores, Grupo Bio-renovables; Carlos Cortés, Grupo Gas de Esquisto; Javier Tapia, Grupo Marco Regulatorio; y René Muga, Grupo Infraestructura y Tecnología.

Los Grupos de Bio-renovables y Gas de Esquisto fueron creados en noviembre pasado, con lo que el total de grupos en el Consejo llegó a siete. En abril, el Consejo planea publicar un informe con los siete principales desafíos que
enfrenta el sector energético de Chile.

On January 14, the Chile-US Energy Business Council hosted an open discussion with the chairs and coordinators of its seven working groups. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the proposals of the different groups to address the challenges in each of these areas. Around 40 members attended the talk.

Rafael Lorenzini, Executive Secretary of the Council, moderated the discussion. The speakers were: Carlos Finat, Non-Conventional Renewable Energy Group; Germán Silva, Energy, Society and Environment Group; Víctor Ballivián, Energy Efficiency Group; Sebastián Flores, Biofuels Group, Carlos Cortés, Shale Gas Group; Javier Tapia, Regulatory Framework Group, and René Muga, Infrastructure and Technology Group.

The Biofuels and Shale Gas Groups were created last November, bringing the total number of groups in the Council to seven. In April the Council plans to publish a report on the seven main challenges facing Chile’s energy industry.
