AmCham, a través del presidente
del Comité de Innovación y Propiedad
Intelectual, Guillermo Carey,
participó en una mesa convocada
por el Ministerio de Economía,
Fomento y Turismo, sobre el ante
proyecto de ley que está trabajando
esta entidad sobre protección de
las personas en el tratamiento
de datos personales, la cual fue
constituida por la Subsecretaria
Katia Trusich con el sector privado
y la sociedad civil.

En la mesa de trabajo participaron
representantes de organizaciones
empresariales y no gubernamentales
como la Asociación de
Bancos e Instituciones Financieras
de Chile, la Asociación Chilena
de Empresas de Tecnología de
Información, la Asociación de
Aseguradores, la Cámara Nacional
de Comercio, la Cámara de
Comercio de Santiago, el Comité
de Retail Financiero, la Asociación
Chilena de Agencias de Publicidad,
Derechos Digitales, ProAcceso, el
Centro de Estudios en Derecho
Informático de la Universidad de
Chile y Amcham.

AmCham, by means of the Chair of the Intellectual Property and Innovation Committee, Guillermo Carey, has taken part in a roundtable discussion held by the Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism, relating to the institution’s draft bill on the protection of individuals in the use of personal data. The event was organized by Undersecretary Katia Trusich and included private sector and civil society representatives.

Roundtable participants included representatives from trade and non-governmental organizations, including the Chilean Association of Banks and Financial Institutions, the Chilean Association of Information Technology Companies, the Association of Insurance Companies, the National Chamber of Commerce, the Santiago Chamber of Commerce, the Retail Finance Committee, the Chilean Association of Advertising Agencies, the NGO Derechos Digitales, the foundation ProAcceso, the Center for the Study of Information Law of the University of Chile, and AmCham.
