La coordinadora de este bootcamp y Chief\u00a0Operating Officer de AmCham Chile, Lorena\u00a0Palomo, destac\u00f3 que el objetivo de esta iniciativa\u00a0se centr\u00f3 en \u201cpromover la vinculaci\u00f3n de los\u00a0proyectos de base cient\u00edfica en las cadenas\u00a0globales de valor con foco en comercializaci\u00f3n.\u00a0Para ello, es clave vincular y familiarizar a los\u00a0emprendedores con el mercado estadounidense,\u00a0l\u00edder en innovaci\u00f3n y biotecnolog\u00eda. Este bootcamp\u00a0fue una primera iniciativa en la que se\u00a0abordaron t\u00e9cnicas b\u00e1sicas de entrenamiento\u00a0para presentar un elevator pitch a venture\u00a0capitals (fondos de inversi\u00f3n para proyectos\u00a0en etapas tempranas) estadounidenses. The aim of the event was to support entrepreneurial projects relating to science by providing them with guidance and the necessary skills to transform their ideas into businesses. It formed part of the Look North Biotech Challenge, a scheme for entrepreneurs with scientific-based projects promoted by the Chamber.<\/p>\n
The event was led by Nancy Levy, founder of BioHealth Management, LLC, a consultancy firm specializing in business development and marketing strategies in the field of science. The expert provided training on marketing strategies for entrepreneurs linked to this sector, from different parts of the country, with initiatives focusing on natural resources and life sciences.<\/p>\n
Coordinator of the boot camp and Chief Operating Officer of AmCham Chile, Lorena Palomo, explained that the aim of the initiative was, \u201cto promote the linkage of science-based projects in global value chains with a focus on marketing. As such, it is crucial to link and familiarize the entrepreneurs with the US market, the leader in terms of innovation and biotechnology. This boot camp was the first initiative to cover basic training techniques for submitting elevator pitches to American venture capitalists (investment funds for projects in their infancy stage).
