El evento se desarroll\u00f3 en el marco de la visita oficial del Secretario de Estado, quien tambi\u00e9n se reuni\u00f3 con la Presidenta Michelle Bachelet y el Ministro de Agricultura, Carlos Furche. En su viaje, Vilsack fue acompa\u00f1ado por una misi\u00f3n empresarial compuesta por 18 compa\u00f1\u00edas y seis asociaciones estadounidenses. En la reuni\u00f3n, Vilsack destac\u00f3 la apertura econ\u00f3mica de Chile, en especial la relaci\u00f3n comercial con Estados Unidos, as\u00ed como las oportunidades en la comercializaci\u00f3n de frutas, en la incorporaci\u00f3n de Energ\u00edas Renovables No Convencionales (ERNC) y el sector forestal. En cuanto al Acuerdo Transpac\u00edfico de Libre Comercio (TPP), se\u00f1al\u00f3 que la ratificaci\u00f3n del TPP en Chile y en Estados Unidos estrechar\u00e1 la relaci\u00f3n multilateral y bilateral entre ambos pa\u00edses, sobre todo para la promoci\u00f3n de nuevas oportunidades de mercado y la creaci\u00f3n de nuevos puestos de trabajo.[:en]As part of his official visit to Chile in which he met with President Michelle Bachelet and Chilean Minister of Agriculture Carlos Furche, the US Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack, has also held a meeting with members of AmCham Chile. During his visit, Vilsack was accompanied by a trade mission composed of 18 US companies and six business associations. During the meeting, Vilsack emphasized the economic liberalization of Chile, especially in terms of business relations with the US. He also highlighted the emergence of marketing opportunities in the fruit and forestry sectors and in the incorporation of sources of non-conventional renewable energy (NCRE).
