Las instalaciones productivas -que en su conjunto emplean a 3.000 personas- totalizan una producci\u00f3n de 4,2 millones de m3 de paneles y representar\u00e1n una inversi\u00f3n de US$150 millones. En la actualidad, dicha empresa es filial del grupo portugu\u00e9s Sonae. Una vez concretada la transacci\u00f3n, la nueva compa\u00f1\u00eda pasar\u00e1 a denominarse Sonae-Arauco. Tafisa, que tiene ventas estimadas en US$900 millones anuales, est\u00e1 dedicada a la fabricaci\u00f3n y comercializaci\u00f3n de paneles de madera y de madera aserrada.[:en]Arauco has signed a US$150 million subscription agreement for up to 50% of the shares in Spanish company, Tafisa, the owner of ten panel mills located in Spain, Portugal, Germany and South Africa. Combined, these production facilities employ 3,000 people and produce a total of 4.2 million cubic meters of panels. Tafisa is currently a subsidiary of the Portuguese company, Sonae. Once the transaction has been completed, the new entity will be called Sonae-Arauco.
