DESCRIPCION DE LA REUNION: Segunda reuni\u00f3n que toca el tema del cambio clim\u00e1tico.\u00a0 En esta ocasi\u00f3n el objetivo principal fue ver y entender las leyes de EE.UU. respecto a este tema y las tendencias que vienen en el futuro.<\/p>\n

TEMAS TRATADOS Y PLANTEAMIENTOS:<\/p>\n

Se abord\u00f3 el tema del cambio clim\u00e1tico, y su posible impacto legal para Chile, as\u00ed como las acciones que pa\u00edses como EE.UU. est\u00e1n siguiendo al respecto Esta\u00a0materia fue abordada\u00a0 por video conferencia por Kenneth Berlin, socio de la consultora estadounidense Skadden y que cont\u00f3 adem\u00e1s como oradores con el abogado Arturo Brandt de la firma Vial y Palma y Mary Brett Rogers-Springs encargada de Energ\u00eda, Medio Ambiente Ciencia, Tecnolog\u00eda y Salud de la\u00a0 Embajada de Estados Unidos en Chile.<\/p>\n

En la oportunidad Berlin esboz\u00f3 como marco general el estatus de la legislaci\u00f3n estadounidense en esta materia, denominada Ley Waxman-Markey\u00a0 as\u00ed como su estructura. Asimismo, abord\u00f3 las materias espec\u00edficas dentro de este marco\u00a0 que afectar\u00edan a las exportaciones, incluidas las chilenas, pero tambi\u00e9n las oportunidades de negocios posibles en este sentido.<\/p>\n

Por su parte, Brandt se refiri\u00f3 entre otros a datos y cifras respecto a la huella de productos, mejorando la imagen corporativa de la compa\u00f1\u00eda,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0diferenciaci\u00f3n\u00a0 competitiva al permitir acceso a mercados internacionales y\u00a0cumplimiento. Como dato,\u00a0 Brandt mencion\u00f3 que seg\u00fan cifras de Pro Chile el 46% de las exportaciones chilenas en 2008, fueron a pa\u00edses que est\u00e1n desarrollando iniciativas respecto a la Huella de Carbono<\/p>\n

En tanto, Mary Brett Rogers-Springs expuso sobre las negociaciones en\u00a0 Copenhagen y lo que ello significar\u00eda para Chile, destacando entre otros que Chile es vulnerable al efecto del cambio clim\u00e1tico y que entre las tareas a abordar est\u00e1n el regular las emisiones y la calidad del aire; incentivos al sector privado para proyectos de energ\u00eda renovable; incrementar el financiamiento para tecnolog\u00edas de energ\u00eda renovables y eficiencia energ\u00e9tica; fortalecer la regulaciones nacionales ambientales y de la industria; y fortalecer e implementar un plan de acci\u00f3n nacional\u00a0 para el cambio clim\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n
