OPENING OF PROCHILE OFFICE IN ATLANTA
\n<\/strong><\/span>ATLANTA, December 8, 2009<\/p>\n

With the presence of His Excellency Mr. Jose Go\u00f1i, Ambassador of Chile to the United States,\u00a0 and the Director of Prochile (The Chilean Trade Bureau) Alicia Frohman, the newest office of Prochile was inaugurated in the city of Atlanta.<\/p>\n

Located in Buckhead, Atlanta, this is the fifth office that Prochile opens in USA, in addition to the ones located in New York, Miami, Washington and Los Angeles. This new office will be lead by Alejandro Moya who has a vast international experience being a representative for Prochile in Asia, Morocco, and Los Angeles. The office will have meeting rooms available up to 60 people, for Chilean or American Companies interested in doing bilateral business<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a long term project that we finally made real. It is part of our strategy to support and proactively help those Chileans companies interested in doing business in the US. The state of Georgia has a big potential for our country, and that is why we are here, to expand businesses\u201d said Alicia Frohmann, Director of Prochile.<\/p>\n

The opening of the office in Atlanta was surrounded by several activities that Prochile organized with the support of our Chamber and the Metro Atlanta Chamber (MAC). One of those activities was a forum held at the Metro Atlanta Chamber, \u201cAtlanta – Chile Business Connection\u201d led by Jorge Fernandez, vice president of global commerce for the MAC. During that seminar, Alberto Valenzuela, President of the Chilean American Chamber of Commerce of the South, spoke about the experience of the Chilean companies based in Atlanta, the oldest one since 1995. We also had the opportunity to hear about the experience of American companies based in Georgia that have been doing business in Chile. The Ambassador of Chile to the US, Jose Go\u00f1i explained the growth of business between Chile and USA, specially noting that after the Free Trade Agreement, the US has seen a big increase of its imports to Chile. During the evening after the forum, Prochile Atlanta offered its guest a cocktail reception at the MAC facilities.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cThis Atlanta office will work not only for the businesses in the State of Georgia, but also other states in the south such as Tennessee, Alabama, North and South Carolina\u201d explained Alejandro Moya.<\/p>\n

\nThe Seminar finished with a Chilean lunch \u201cSabores de Chile\u201d where the Chilean Chef Matias Palomo (Named Chef of the Year for \u201cRevista Que Pasa\u201d and Chef of the Year 2007 for the \u201cC\u00edrculo de cronistas gastron\u00f3micos de Chile A.G.\u201d) prepared specially a varied menu to show the high quality of Chilean Products.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\nProchile also organized a visit to the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and Museum in Atlanta, where a floral wreath was placed at the tomb. The delegation was invited to visit CNN, the largest news network in the world that is based in Atlanta. The last activity was a Chilean Cooking Demonstration at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, Atlanta, where Matias Palomo gave the students a class on Chilean cuisine.<\/p>\n
