Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition&rdquo;.<\/font><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><font face=\"Verdana\">En la ocasi&oacute;n, Michael Grasty, presidente del Comit&eacute; de Educaci&oacute;n de AmCham y promotor de esta iniciativa, dio la bienvenida a los alumnos participantes de la Universidad Adolfo Ib&aacute;&ntilde;ez -James Channing y F&eacute;lix Antol&iacute;n- y al resto de los asistentes. Asimismo, la abogada Lucy Young, socia de Grasty Quintana Majlis &amp; C&iacute;a. explic&oacute; todo lo relacionado al Philip C. Jessup &ldquo;En este certamen, un equipo representante de cada pa&iacute;s debe defender internacionalmente un caso, el que finalmente debe ser alegado verbalmente en ingl&eacute;s en Washington, delante de un jurado usualmente compuesto por uno o m&aacute;s miembros de la Corte Suprema de ese pa&iacute;s. Agreg&oacute; que dicha competencia comenz&oacute; en 1959 y que en el 2007, m&aacute;s de 500 escuelas de m&aacute;s de 80 pa&iacute;ses participaron. Dijo que 94 equipos (501 estudiantes) de 70 pa&iacute;ses calificaron para competir en Washington, D.C. y que 11 equipos latinoamericanos compitieron (Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Rep&uacute;blica Dominicana, Guatemala, Guyana, M&eacute;xico, Uruguay y Venezuela.<\/font><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><font face=\"Verdana\">Ambos alumnos se&ntilde;alaron &quot;signific&oacute; un enorme cambio, porque para participar en este tipo de debate, hay que estudiar profundamente la ley y aplicarla de una manera distinta a lo que hab&iacute;amos&nbsp;hecho.&rdquo;<\/font> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><font face=\"Verdana\"><strong><u>Presentaci&oacute;n<\/u><\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El 20 de abril de 2007 se realiz&oacute; la primera reuni&oacute;n del Comit&eacute; de Educaci&oacute;n de AmCham, en el que se habl&oacute; sobre &ldquo;La Experiencia de participar en el Philip C.
