AmCham inici\u00f3 en julio las primeras rondas de la octava versi\u00f3n de The Great Corporate Debate, competencia de debates interempresas en ingl\u00e9s. Las compa\u00f1\u00edas participantes en esta oportunidad son: Walmart, Pfizer, Coca Cola y Banco Santander.<\/p>\n

Esta actividad nace con el objetivo de ser una instancia para que los ejecutivos se capaciten oratoria y aprendan y practiquen t\u00e9cnicas de debate en ingl\u00e9s, las que tienen un efecto directo sobre sus capacidades para argumentar y desenvolverse a la hora de negociar. El gerente general de AmCham, Roberto Matus, se\u00f1al\u00f3 que \u201cesta iniciativa est\u00e1 en l\u00ednea con la misi\u00f3n de AmCham en cuanto a promover la relaci\u00f3n entre Chile y Estados Unidos, ya que a trav\u00e9s de esta competencia estamos incorporando una extendida pr\u00e1ctica estadounidense como es la de debatir\u201d. Sostuvo que el ingl\u00e9s es una herramienta vital para cualquier profesional, independiente del \u00e1rea en que ejerza sus funciones, ya que en el mundo actual, globalizado y altamente competitivo, el manejo del idioma en niveles no s\u00f3lo gerenciales, se transforma en una clara ventaja competitiva para la empresa.<\/p>\n

In July, AmCham launched the first rounds of the eighth version of The Great Corporate Debate, an inter-company debate competition held in English. Participating companies on this occasion include: Walmart, Pfizer, Coca Cola and Banco Santander.<\/p>\n

The aim of this activity is to provide executives with a chance to improve their speaking skills, by learning and practicing debating techniques in English. Such skills can have a direct impact on their abilities in arguing and coping during business negotiations.<\/p>\n

AmCham General Manager, Roberto Matus, explained \u201cthis initiative is in line with AmCham\u2019s mission of promoting relations between the United States and Chile, because through competitions such as this one, we are incorporating a very common American practice \u2013debating\u201d. He maintained that English is vital tool for any professional, regardless of the area in which he\/she works. In today\u2019s world, he continued, which is so globalized and highly competitive, the ability to speak English, and not only at the management level, is a clear competitive advantage for any business.<\/p>\n
