El subsecretario Daniel Poneman, particip\u00f3 en la mesa redonda \u201cChile-EE.UU.: Desaf\u00edos, Oportunidades y Colaboraci\u00f3n en la Nueva Realidad Energ\u00e9tica\u201d, en la que se abordaron los desaf\u00edos que enfrenta la industria energ\u00e9tica y se expusieron \u00e1reas de inter\u00e9s y colaboraci\u00f3n entre ambos pa\u00edses, tales como shale gas, energ\u00edas renovables no convencionales (ERNC) y sistemas de transmisi\u00f3n. En la conversaci\u00f3n participaron importantes actores de la industria nacional: Bernardo Larra\u00edn, presidente de Colb\u00fan; Cristi\u00e1n Sj\u00f6gren, First Solar; Eric Ahumada, Transelec; e Ignacio Santelices, del Ministerio de Energ\u00eda, entre otros.<\/p>\n
Rodrigo \u00c1lvarez, director consejero del Consejo Empresarial de Energ\u00eda Chile-EE.UU. y ex Ministro de Energ\u00eda, fue el moderador de la mesa redonda, quien destac\u00f3 que \u201cuno de los territorios m\u00e1s interesantes, por la experiencia acumulada, por su diversidad de mercados, por la evoluci\u00f3n tecnol\u00f3gica, por su nivel de participaci\u00f3n social, por sus definiciones de pol\u00edtica p\u00fablica, en materia de energ\u00eda, lo constituye Estados Unidos\u201d.<\/p>\n
En tanto, el subsecretario Daniel Poneman, se\u00f1al\u00f3 que \u201cnos encontramos en un momento de oportunidades en seguridad energ\u00e9tica. En el pasado invertimos en tecnolog\u00edas que no interesaban mucho al sector privado, pero hoy la oportunidad es diferente\u201d. Ello frente a una exclusiva audiencia de 30 empresarios y dirigentes gremiales de la industria chilena de energ\u00eda y del Gobierno. Despu\u00e9s de destacar las excelentes y productivas relaciones entre ambos pa\u00edses, sostuvo que seguramente dos de los desaf\u00edos m\u00e1s importantes a enfrentar para el futuro en materia energ\u00e9tica son la seguridad y el clima.<\/p>\n

Deputy Secretary Daniel Poneman took part in roundtable discussions entitled \u201cChile\u2013US: Challenges, Opportunities and Collaboration in the New Energy Reality\u201d. The event covered the challenges facing the energy industry and established areas of interest and collaboration between the two countries in different areas, including shale gas, non-conventional renewable energies (NCRE) and transmission systems. The roundtable session was attended by notable actors from the domestic sector: Bernardo Larra\u00edn, President of Colb\u00fan; Cristi\u00e1n Sj\u00f6gren, from First Solar; Eric Ahumada, from Transelec; and Ignacio Santelices, from the Ministry of Energy, among others.<\/p>\n
Rodrigo \u00c1lvarez, advisor to the Chile-US Energy Business Council and ex-Minister of Energy, was the roundtable moderator. He stated that \u201cone of the most interesting places, in terms of accumulated experience, diversity of markets, technological evolution, levels of social participation and public policy definitions relating to energy is the United States\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n Deputy Secretary Poneman noted, \u201cWe currently find ourselves at an opportune moment in terms of energy security. In the past, we invested in technologies that were not particularly interesting to the private sector, but the opportunities are different nowadays\u201d. He was speaking before an exclusive audience of 30 businesspersons and trade leaders from the Chilean energy industry and Government representatives.
