En septiembre, el banco chileno Bci emiti\u00f3 US$400 millones en papeles comerciales de corto plazo denominados en d\u00f3lares. La emisi\u00f3n forma parte de un programa de deuda de hasta US$1.000 millones dise\u00f1ada para diversificar las fuentes de financiamiento del banco, tanto geogr\u00e1ficamente como respecto del tipo de inversionistas.<\/p>\n
La colocaci\u00f3n privada apunt\u00f3 a inversionistas institucionales, incluidos fondos de pensi\u00f3n, fondos mutuos, fondos de cobertura, bancos y municipios. Para lanzar el programa, Bci tuvo acceso al mecanismo de ventana de descuento de la Reserva Federal de Estados Unidos, gracias al trabajo de abogados chilenos y estadounidenses as\u00ed como tambi\u00e9n de Bci Miami.<\/p>\n
Bci se\u00f1al\u00f3 en un comunicado que el nuevo financiamiento alternativo en d\u00f3lares le permite financiar las diversas necesidades de sus clientes en operaciones internacionales a tasas muy competitivas. Los papeles recibieron un calificaci\u00f3n \u201cA-1\u201d de Standard & Poor\u2019s y P-1 de Moody’s.<\/p>\n

In September Chilean bank Bci issued US$400 million in US dollar-denominated short-term commercial papers in the United States. The issuance is part of a US$1 billion debt program designed to diversify the bank\u2019s sources of funding, both geographically and by type of investor. <\/p>\n
The private placement was aimed at institutional investors including pension funds, mutual funds, hedge funds, banks and municipalities. To launch the program, Bci had access to the FED\u2019s discount window facility, thanks to the work of Chilean and US lawyers as well as Bci Miami.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis new funding alternative in US dollars allows us to finance the diverse needs of our clients in international operations at very competitve rates,\u201d said Bci in a statement. The papers are rated A-1 by Standard & Poor\u2019s and P-1 by Moody’s.<\/p>\n
