Common Pitch -celebrado este a\u00f1o por primera vez en Chile- organiz\u00f3 un concurso para emprendedores chilenos que encarnaran estos conceptos con un premio para el ganador de US$35.000 en efectivo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tambi\u00e9n participaron en el almuerzo Mar\u00eda Paz Epelman, consejera consultiva de AmCham y vicepresidenta de asuntos p\u00fablicos y RSE de VTR; Jorge Rodr\u00edguez, CEO de Deloitte; y Estanislao Pe\u00f1a, presidente de Nextel Chile.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">En el almuerzo, Gore se refiri\u00f3 a su visi\u00f3n de \u201ccapitalismo sustentable\u201d a diferencia del actual modelo econ\u00f3mico basado en el crecimiento inmediato, el que a su juicio ha causado una creciente desigualdad en la distribuci\u00f3n de la riqueza. Para ser sustentable y dejar de \u201cpedir prestado al futuro\u201d, las empresas deben considerar los costos ambientales de sus acciones, afirm\u00f3. M\u00e1s tarde ese mismo d\u00eda, Gore dio un discurso en el Parque Bicentenario en frente a miles de espectadores el que abarc\u00f3 estos mismos temas.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--:--><!--:en--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On November 29, AmCham\u2019s executive director, Rodrigo Ballivi\u00e1n, attended a lunch in honor of the former Vice President of the United States, Al Gore, at the restaurant Maldito Chef in Santiago.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gore was in Chile at the invitation of Common Pitch, a festival of entrepreneurship, social innovation and sustainability that originated in the United States. Held in Chile for the first time this year, Common Pitch organized a competition for Chilean entrepreneurs that embody these concepts, with the winner taking home US$35,000 in cash.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also present at the lunch was Mar\u00eda Paz Epelman, a member of AmCham\u2019s advisory board and vice-president of public affairs and CSR of VTR; Jorge Rodr\u00edguez, CEO of Deloitte, and Estanislao Pe\u00f1a, president of Nextel Chile.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the lunch, Gore discussed his vision of \u201csustainable capitalism\u201d, as opposed to the current economic model based on short-term growth, which he said has caused growing inequality in the distribution of wealth. To be sustainable, and stop \u201cborrowing from the future\u201d, businesses must consider the enrivonmental costs of their actions, he said.
