El programa aspira a que los estudiantes destinen sus trabajos voluntarios de verano a ayudar a las personas en zonas afectadas por el terremoto de febrero.<\/P><br \/>\n<P style=\"TEXT-ALIGN: justify\">El Presidente Pi\u00f1era llam\u00f3 a los estudiantes a que \u201csean como una especie de semilla, que convoquen a sus amigos, a sus compa\u00f1eros de otras universidades y que provoquemos una verdadera avalancha de j\u00f3venes que se vuelca a los distintos rincones de nuestro pa\u00eds golpeados por el terremoto, a reconstruir, pero tambi\u00e9n a mostrar un ejemplo del nuevo pa\u00eds que juntos vamos a ser capaces de sacar adelante\u201d.<\/P><br \/>\n<P style=\"TEXT-ALIGN: justify\">El Presidente anunci\u00f3 adem\u00e1s la creaci\u00f3n de un fondo administrado por el Instituto Nacional de la Juventud (Injuv), que entregar\u00e1 un total de US$1 mill\u00f3n a las universidades en el 2011 para fomentar que grupos de estudiantes presenten ideas para proyectos de reconstrucci\u00f3n. Los proyectos competir\u00e1n para recibir los fondos basados en sus beneficios sociales y la cantidad de participantes, entre otros factores.<\/P><!--:--><!--:en--><P style=\"TEXT-ALIGN: justify\">President Sebasti\u00e1n Pi\u00f1era and Education Minister, Joaqu\u00edn Lav\u00edn, launched in November the program \u201cUniversity students for Chile\u201d at the Pe\u00f1alol\u00e9n campus of the Universidad Adolfo Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez. The program encourages students to volunteer over the summer break to help people in areas affected by February\u2019s earthquake.<\/P><br \/>\n<P style=\"TEXT-ALIGN: justify\">President Pi\u00f1era called on students \u201cto bring your friends and classmates from other universities and generate an avalanche of young people to all corners of our land to help rebuild, but also to set an example for our country that together we can move forward.\u201d<\/P><br \/>\n<P style=\"TEXT-ALIGN: justify\">The President also announced the creation of a fund administered by the National Youth Institute (Injuv), which will provide US$1 million to universities in 2011 to encourage groups of students to present ideas for reconstruction projects.
