Actualmente cuenta con 30 pozos que producen un total de 1.600 barriles por d\u00eda de petr\u00f3leo y un mill\u00f3n de metros c\u00fabicos por d\u00eda de gas, lo que corresponde a un 30% de la producci\u00f3n total de hidrocarburos de Chile.<\/P><!--:--><!--:en--><P style=\"TEXT-ALIGN: justify\">Latin American hydrocarbon exploration and production firm GeoPark plans to invest US$ 300 million in Chile\u2019s Magallanes Region over the next five years to expand its operations.<\/P><br \/>\n<P style=\"TEXT-ALIGN: justify\">GeoPark\u2019s CEO James Park made the announcement during a visit by President Pi\u00f1era to the firm\u2019s production plant outside Punta Arenas in August. \u201cWe will keep looking for opportunities because the Magallanes region has important potential to produce hydrocarbons for the country,\u201d said Park.<\/P><br \/>\n<P style=\"TEXT-ALIGN: justify\">GeoPark, which began operations in 2006, is the only private oil and gas production firm in Chile.
