\nAmCham Chile y la Asociaci\u00f3n Americana de C\u00e1maras de Comercio en Am\u00e9rica Latina (AACCLA) dan la bienvenida a los delegados de m\u00e1s de 20 pa\u00edses del hemisferio, quienes visitar\u00e1n Chile para asistir a mediados de este mes a la conferencia Business Future of the Americas: \u201cLiberando el Esp\u00edritu Empresarial en Occidente\u201d, y cuyo anfitri\u00f3n ser\u00e1 en esta oportunidad AmCham Chile. Cabe se\u00f1alar que la red de la AACCLA est\u00e1 compuesta por 23 AmChams presentes en 21 pa\u00edses, y cuenta con m\u00e1s de 20.000 miembros que representan m\u00e1s del 80% de la inversi\u00f3n de Estados Unidos en la regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
El objetivo de esta reuni\u00f3n de c\u00e1maras socias, ser\u00e1 destacar aquellas \u00e1reas en las que el trabajo conjunto entre los pa\u00edses y las empresas regionales, pueden potenciar la competitividad del hemisferio, creando oportunidades y mejorando la calidad de vida de nuestras sociedades.<\/p>\n
Por ello como primer tema, nos concentraremos en la energ\u00eda: un importante desaf\u00edo global y un \u00e1rea clave de desarrollo para la regi\u00f3n. Los conferencistas invitados evaluar\u00e1n lo alcanzado hasta ahora y explorar\u00e1n algunas de las oportunidades que ofrece el continente, como los biocombustibles y otras energ\u00edas alternativas. Del mismo modo, representantes de los inversionistas l\u00edderes entregar\u00e1n sus perspectivas sobre los resultados obtenidos, as\u00ed como las futuras posibilidades y los desaf\u00edos por superar en esta materia. <\/p>\n
Se analizar\u00e1 tambi\u00e9n el avance que ha tenido hasta ahora la integraci\u00f3n regional, instancia donde el comercio ha desempe\u00f1ado un papel trascendente. En este sentido, se destacar\u00e1 la exitosa experiencia obtenida por Chile, pa\u00eds que logr\u00f3 un incremento de m\u00e1s del 250% de su comercio desde la implementaci\u00f3n del Tratado de Libre Comercio (TLC) con Estados Unidos. El panel de expositores abordar\u00e1, adem\u00e1s, las significativas oportunidades que tendremos a nuestro alcance una vez aprobados los TLC de Per\u00fa, Colombia y Panam\u00e1 con Estados Unidos. Cuando ello ocurra, m\u00e1s de dos tercios de la poblaci\u00f3n latinoamericana ser\u00e1 parte del TLC con Estados Unidos.<\/p>\n
\u00bfQu\u00e9 se puede hacer para aprovechar al m\u00e1ximo esta circunstancia? Para ello, durante la conferencia del BFA, se analizar\u00e1n las iniciativas para profundizar los acuerdos vigentes y facilitar el comercio mediante la simplificaci\u00f3n de temas aduaneros y el desarrollo de medios m\u00e1s efectivos para la resoluci\u00f3n de disputas. En este sentido, el establecimiento de Chile como centro regional de arbitraje para facilitar la resoluci\u00f3n de conflictos y la materializaci\u00f3n de negocios, tambi\u00e9n ser\u00e1 abordado como un potencial mecanismo que permita el fomento de la inversi\u00f3n y el comercio en la regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
Durante la ma\u00f1ana del segundo d\u00eda de este encuentro, podremos escuchar a empresarios l\u00edderes que, a trav\u00e9s de su experiencia, resaltar\u00e1n los beneficios de una regi\u00f3n m\u00e1s integrada. Estos casos, convertir\u00e1n la discusi\u00f3n te\u00f3rica en una experiencia real que entrega la motivaci\u00f3n para buscar nuevas oportunidades de manera m\u00e1s inmediata y con suerte \u00a1entre los propios delegados! <\/p>\n
Finalmente, se abordar\u00e1 el futuro de nuestro continente, nuestros pa\u00edses y nuestra gente, y el c\u00f3mo liberar el potencial de nuestro capital humano a trav\u00e9s de m\u00e1s y mejor innovaci\u00f3n. Escucharemos historias exitosas de l\u00edderes que han pasado muchos a\u00f1os dedicados a este esfuerzo en la regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
Al cierre, la conferencia tratar\u00e1 el desaf\u00edo m\u00e1s importante de todos: la educaci\u00f3n. Por ello, uno de los l\u00edderes mundiales en educaci\u00f3n para el emprendimiento se referir\u00e1 a lo se puede hacer para mejorar y potenciar las capacidades de nuestra gente, con miras a maximizar las oportunidades para el crecimiento y el desarrollo.<\/p>\n
De este modo, AmCham Chile y la red AACCLA est\u00e1n dedicados a promover el libre comercio y la inversi\u00f3n en el hemisferio occidental, siendo ambas instancias fundamentales para el crecimiento y el desarrollo econ\u00f3mico. Esperamos que la conferencia Business Future of the Americas contribuya a esta misi\u00f3n. \nAmCham Chile and the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America (AACCLA) are pleased to welcome delegates from over twenty countries in the hemisphere who will be visiting Chile to attend AACCLA’s mid-year meeting – Business Future of the Americas: Unleashing Entrepreneurship in the Western Hemisphere – hosted by AmCham Chile. The AACCLA network includes 23 AmChams in 21 countries, with over 20,000 members representing more than 80% of U.S. investment in the region. <\/p>\n
The meeting\u2019s goal is to highlight the areas where, working together, the countries and businesses of the region can enhance the competitiveness of the hemisphere, create opportunities, and improve the lives of our people. <\/p>\n
First, we will focus on energy – a major global challenge and a key area of opportunity for the region. Speakers will evaluate what has been achieved to date and explore some of the opportunities which the hemisphere offers, including biofuels and other alternative energies. Representatives of leading investors will provide their perspectives on investment results and future prospects including the challenges that must be overcome. <\/p>\n
Second, we will discuss progress to date on regional integration where trade has played such a critical role. The Chile success story, including the over 250% increase in trade since the implementation of its Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the United States, will be highlighted. The panel will also touch upon the significant opportunities within our reach once the Peru, Colombia and Panama FTAs with the U.S. are approved. When that happens, over two-thirds of the population of Latin America will have an FTA with the U.S. <\/p>\n
What can be done to take full advantage of this fact? Efforts to deepen existing agreements and facilitate trade by simplifying customs matters or developing more effective means to resolve disputes will be discussed. Chile’s establishment as a regional center for arbitration will be reviewed as a potential mechanism for facilitating conflict resolution and making business easier, thereby fomenting investment and trade in the hemisphere.<\/p>\n
On the morning of day two, we will have the chance to listen to leading entrepreneurs who will highlight, through their real-life experience, the benefits of a more integrated hemisphere. These cases convert theoretical discussion into real experience and provide motivation to seek out new opportunities – hopefully, and most immediately, among the delegates! <\/p>\n
Finally, we will look to the future for our hemisphere, our countries and our people through more and better innovation, including how to unleash the potential of our human capital. We will hear success stories and listen to leaders who have spent many years dedicated to this effort across the continent. <\/p>\n
The conference will close with the most important challenge of all – education. One of the global leaders in entrepreneurship education will talk about what can be done to enhance our ability to unlock the capabilities of our people and maximize opportunities for growth and development.<\/p>\n
