\nL\u00edderes de opini\u00f3n y acad\u00e9micos se\u00f1alan que hoy estamos experimentando la cuarta revoluci\u00f3n digital, concepto que tambi\u00e9n se conoce como Industria 4.0. El momento en que vivimos dej\u00f3 de ser an\u00e1logo hace muchos a\u00f1os. Transitar hacia el pr\u00f3ximo nivel, hacia el futuro, hoy es sin\u00f3nimo de digitalizaci\u00f3n, inteligencia artificial, big data y cambios sociales que exigen una mirada global, adem\u00e1s de la necesidad de relacionarnos y colaborar entre diversos actores.<\/p>\n

Las Redes Sociales y modelos como la econom\u00eda colaborativa han producido nuevos paradigmas de los cuales es importante hacernos cargo. A trav\u00e9s de Business Chile hemos abordado durante 2017 \u00e1mbitos que muestran la conformaci\u00f3n de un pa\u00eds con nuevas inquietudes, las que se vinculan con la energ\u00eda, capital humano, innovaci\u00f3n y la detecci\u00f3n de oportunidades de negocio que de alguna forma implican una modernizaci\u00f3n en nuestra relaci\u00f3n con Estados Unidos.<\/p>\n

En abril abordamos la importancia del litio desde el desaf\u00edo de generar una nueva industria, ya que el tambi\u00e9n denominado \u201coro blanco\u201d elevar\u00e1 su demanda anual en 8% seg\u00fan la Comisi\u00f3n Nacional de Energ\u00eda.<\/p>\n

En julio profundizamos en la regulaci\u00f3n de la inmigraci\u00f3n, que en el pa\u00eds se quintuplic\u00f3, llegando desde 83 mil a 465 mil personas entre los a\u00f1os 1982 y 2015. Lo hicimos a partir de un punto de vista positivo, ya que los extranjeros en Chile han significado un importante aporte y profesionalizaci\u00f3n para los sectores relacionados con servicios. Este cambio social tambi\u00e9n lo hemos abordado desde otras perspectivas, puntualmente, en torno a la incorporaci\u00f3n de los adultos mayores a la fuerza laboral. Este segmento de la sociedad es clave, ya que aporta con experiencia al desarrollo de empresas y organizaciones.<\/p>\n

En este \u00faltimo n\u00famero decidimos explorar otro desaf\u00edo y que es el avance del pa\u00eds en la gesti\u00f3n de situaciones de emergencia. Lo anterior, al considerar que cat\u00e1strofes naturales como el terremoto de 2010, y seg\u00fan cifras de Gobierno, produjeron p\u00e9rdidas en infraestructura p\u00fablica y privada por casi US$21 mil millones de d\u00f3lares. Como naci\u00f3n nos interesa ser competitivos y con est\u00e1ndares internacionales. Por eso, nuestra preparaci\u00f3n para enfrentar emergencias tambi\u00e9n deber\u00eda ser sin\u00f3nimo de un pa\u00eds cada vez m\u00e1s moderno.<\/p>\n

En Business Chile hemos ahondado en estas tem\u00e1ticas y tambi\u00e9n en otras vinculadas a la salud, la rob\u00f3tica, la transformaci\u00f3n digital de la banca y en la visi\u00f3n de representantes del sector p\u00fablico sobre desaf\u00edos que son transversales. Est\u00e1 claro que los mecanismos y herramientas no son \u00fanicos, sino que variados, siempre teniendo presente el di\u00e1logo y la incorporaci\u00f3n de nuevas pr\u00e1cticas.<\/p>\n

Estamos viviendo un momento en que es clave mirar hacia el futuro, sin descalificaciones y con una mirada integral. Estados Unidos se mantiene como uno de los principales socios comerciales de Chile, pero dicha relaci\u00f3n tiene que seguir fortaleci\u00e9ndose y en diferentes \u00e1mbitos.<\/p>\n

Contamos con emprendedores que se han abierto espacio en el extranjero, pero tambi\u00e9n tenemos que promover instancias m\u00e1s abiertas de colaboraci\u00f3n. S\u00f3lo de esta forma seremos capaces de trabajar para el desarrollo de nuevas oportunidades, las que ser\u00e1n primordiales en el futuro que deseamos construir como un pa\u00eds perteneciente a un mundo cada vez m\u00e1s globalizado.[:en]\"\"
\nLeading opinion makers and academics claim that modern society is experiencing a forth industrial revolution, a concept that is also known as Industry 4.0 or the Digital Revolution. The world in which we previously lived ceased to be analogue a number of years ago. Progress towards the next level and to the future is now synonymous with digitalization, artificial intelligence, big data and social changes that require a global outlook, as well as a need to relate to and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.<\/p>\n

Social media and concepts such as the sharing economy have generated new paradigms which require close attention. At Business Chile, we have covered distinct aspects during 2017 that demonstrates the willingness of a nation to address new concerns, such as those related to energy, human capital, innovation and the identification of new business opportunities. Accordingly, all of these aspects, in some way or another, imply the modernization of Chile\u2019s relationship with the United States.<\/p>\n

In April, we looked into the importance of lithium and the challenge of generating a new industry from the metal known as \u2018white gold\u2019. This metal will prove important moving forward, with its annual demand expected to grow by 8% according to the Comisi\u00f3n Nacional de Energ\u00eda (National Energy Commission).<\/p>\n

In July, we covered the issue of regulating immigration, a phenomenon which has increased by a factor of five over 35 years, from 83,000 in 1982 to 465,000 in 2015. Our coverage of this issue has been undertaken from a positive point of view, since foreigners have provided significant support to Chile over the years, particularly in the professionalization of sectors related to services.<\/p>\n

In September, we tackled other important social changes occurring in Chile, including the incorporation of senior citizens into the national labor force. This particular segment of society is key because of the level of experience that older persons are able to bring to the development and growth of companies and organizations.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

In this, the final edition of Business Chile of 2017, we have decided to explore another challenge facing the country, which relates to achieving progress in the area of emergency management. This is an important concern in Chile given the country\u2019s propensity for natural disasters, such as the 2010 earthquake and tsunami. Indeed, that disaster alone generated losses to public and private infrastructure worth almost US$21 billion. As a nation, Chile enjoys the element of competition and reaching international standards across the board. That is why our preparedness to confront distinct types of emergencies should also be seen as a reflection of an increasingly modern country.<\/p>\n

At Business Chile, we have delved into these issues and many others regarding health, robotics, digital transformation in the banking sector, and different viewpoints on cross-cutting challenges from public sector representatives. It is clear that the mechanisms and tools are varied and include the constant presence of dialogue and the incorporation of new practices.<\/p>\n

It is becoming increasingly important in current times to look to the future, in a positive, inclusive and comprehensive manner. While the United States remains one of Chile\u2019s most important trade partners, this bilateral relationship must continue to be strengthened in a number of areas.<\/p>\n

Finally, it should be noted that there are a number of Chilean entrepreneurs who have successfully developed new business spaces abroad. Moving forward, it is imperative that we continue to promote increasingly open spaces of our own for ongoing collaboration. It is only in that way that we will be able to work towards the establishment of new opportunities; opportunities that will be fundamental for building the future we want, where Chile is a nation that belongs to an increasingly globalized, outward-looking world.[:]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
