El presente a\u00f1o comenz\u00f3 con una nueva administraci\u00f3n en la Casa Blanca, junto con la configuraci\u00f3n de una nueva pol\u00edtica de relacionamiento de Estados Unidos con el resto del mundo. En estos primeros meses, el Presidente Donald Trump ha ido conformando su administraci\u00f3n y estableciendo sus principales ejes de trabajo.<\/p>\n
A\u00fan es muy pronto para sacar conclusiones sobre esta nueva presidencia, pero s\u00ed es cierto que la relaci\u00f3n comercial entre Chile y Estados Unidos se mantiene s\u00f3lida y estable. Lo anterior, se pudo constatar en la Conferencia Internacional Miami Plataforma Global para Invertir y Hacer Negocios, organizada por la C\u00e1mara Chileno Norteamericana de Comercio, AmCham Chile, y la c\u00e1mara de comercio de Chile en el estado de Florida, Chile-US Chamber of Commerce, con el apoyo de Bci. En esta actividad se abordaron oportunidades de negocio con dicha ciudad estadounidense, en especial, en torno a los \u00e1mbitos de comercio, turismo, servicios financieros, inmobiliario e infraestructura.<\/p>\n
Miami es muy atractiva para inversionistas latinoamericanos, anto por su tama\u00f1o -el estado de Florida tiene m\u00e1s de 20 millones de habitantes-, como porque representa una puerta de entrada para la comercializaci\u00f3n de productos y servicios hacia otras zonas de Estados Unidos. Seg\u00fan la Universidad de Miami, entre 1.250 y 1.400 empresas multinacionales tienen oficinas en esa ciudad. En tanto, desde los puertos del estado de Florida pasa 40% de las exportaciones de Estados Unidos hacia Am\u00e9rica Latina. Hechos como estos han llevado a que la revista internacional Am\u00e9rica Econom\u00eda catalogara a Miami como la mejor ciudad para realizar negocios en la regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
Esta conferencia internacional, que se realiz\u00f3 en el marco de una Misi\u00f3n Comercial Multisectorial de Florida que visit\u00f3 Chile, grafica el inter\u00e9s de los chilenos por acercarse al mercado estadounidense, as\u00ed como que los emisarios de dicho pa\u00eds est\u00e1n a la b\u00fasqueda de nuevos inversionistas nacionales. As\u00ed lo destacaron las autoridades extranjeras que asistieron a este encuentro, en particular el Alcalde de Miami, Tom\u00e1s Regalado, quien resalt\u00f3 que su ciudad y el estado de Florida disponen de pol\u00edticas pro empresa, incentivos y rebajas de impuestos que son muy atractivas. Incluso fue m\u00e1s lejos al se\u00f1alar que Chile tiene valiosas oportunidades para el desarrollo de negocios agr\u00edcolas y vitivin\u00edcolas.<\/p>\n
Desde la entrada en vigencia del Tratado de Libre Comercio entre Chile y Estados Unidos en 2004, el comercio bilateral ha crecido m\u00e1s de 10 veces, lo que ha generado un v\u00ednculo robusto y profundo. Tomando en consideraci\u00f3n dicha cifra, adem\u00e1s de las oportunidades que ofrece un mundo cada vez m\u00e1s globalizado, AmCham ha estado desarrollando el programa Look North, el cual tiene como objetivo apoyar la internacionalizaci\u00f3n de empresas chilenas en Estados Unidos.<\/p>\n
Muchos emprendedores nacionales tienen buenas ideas, con n enorme potencial, pero carecen de las herramientas para escalar sus proyectos. Por ello, AmCham los apoyar\u00e1 en este proceso entreg\u00e1ndoles informaci\u00f3n, asesor\u00eda y capacitaci\u00f3n; unto con darles acceso a nuevos ecosistemas y redes de contactos. Una de las actividades de este programa para 2017 ser\u00e1 Look North Miami, misi\u00f3n que se centrar\u00e1 en explorar dicho mercado en torno a startups, venture capitals e inversionistas \u00e1ngeles. De esta manera, se seguir\u00e1 trabajando por fortalecer la presencia chilena en un mercado con un potencial de m\u00e1s de 300 millones de personas y as\u00ed aportar a la competitividad internacional del pa\u00eds.[:en]<\/p>\n
The year 2017 began with a new administration in the White House, in conjunction with the drafting of new US policy to define the country\u2019s relations with the rest of the world. During his first few months in office, President Donald Trump has been compiling his administration and formulating his main areas of focus.<\/p>\n
It is still too early to draw conclusions about this new presidency, although it is clear that trade relations between Chile and the United States remain strong and stable. This was confirmed at the Miami Global Platform International Conference for Investment and Business, an event organized by the Chilean American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Chile) and the Chile-US Chamber of Commerce, which is the Chilean chamber of commerce in Florida. The event was also put together with the support of Bci bank. The conference covered distinct business opportunities within the city of Miami, particularly in the sectors of trade, tourism, financial services, real estate and infrastructure.<\/p>\n
Miami is a highly attractive destination for Latin American investors, not only due to its size (the state of Florida has a population of over 20 million), but also because it represents a port of entry for the sale of goods and services to other parts of the United States. According to the University of Miami, between 1,250 and 1,400 multinational companies have offices in the city. Furthermore, approximately 40% of US exports to Latin America pass through the ports of Florida. Statistics such as these have resulted in the international magazine Am\u00e9ricaEconom\u00eda classifying Miami as the best city in the region in which to do business.<\/p>\n
This international conference, which was held within the framework of a multisector trade mission from Florida which visited Chile, demonstrates the interest of the Chilean business community to explore the US market, as well as American envoys to seek out new national investors. This was highlighted by the distinct foreign authorities participating in the conference, in particular the Mayor of Miami, Tom\u00e1s Regalado, who stressed that the city and the state of Florida have business friendly incentives and tax cuts that are deemed highly attractive. He also emphasized that Chile possesses distinct opportunities for the development of agricultural and winegrowing enterprises.<\/p>\n
Since the Free Trade Agreement between Chile and the United States came into force in 2004, bilateral trade has grown by the rate of ten, generating a robust and deep link between the two nations. Considering this growth in trade, as well as the opportunities afforded by an increasingly globalized word, AmCham Chile has been developing its Look North program, which aims to support the internationalization of Chilean companies in the United States.<\/p>\n
A large number of Chilean companies have good ideas and tremendous potential but lack the necessary tools to scale their projects. That is why AmCham Chile will support them in this process, providing them with information, consultancy and training, in addition to access to new ecosystems and contact networks. One of the activities of this program for 2017 will be Look North Miami, a mission that will focus on exploring the US market in terms of start-ups, venture capital and angel investors. Via this approach, the Chamber will continue to strengthen Chilean presence in a market which has a potential of more than 300 million inhabitants, thereby encouraging the international competitiveness of the country at the same time.
