Con el auge de la economía, los chilenos sienten que otra vez tienen dinero en sus bolsillos; y están gastando una parte de éste en bebidas. Las ventas del sector han aumentado en un 6% en los primeros nueve meses de este año, de acuerdo a ANBER, la Asociación Nacional de Bebidas Refrescantes. Este ha sido su crecimiento más rápido, en comparación con el mismo período del año anterior, desde mediados de 1990 y, con el verano encima, existe la seguridad de que vendrá un crecimiento aún más fuerte. Buenas noticias, por cierto, para las compañías de bebidas que dominan el sector, ya que reflejarán un excedente de USD 1 billón en sus ventas anuales. Pero los gustos cambiantes de los consumidores mantienen a los gigantes en suspenso y crean nuevas oportunidades para los pequeños productores.Exceptionally sensitive to the performance of the economy as a whole, the soft drinks sector is once again growing strongly but, as prosperity increases, tastes are changing, posing new challenges for the industry. With the economy booming, Chileans once again feel they have money in their pockets - and they are spending some of it on soft drinks. The sector’s sales increased by 6.1% in the first nine months of this year, according to ANBER, the association of soft drinks producers. That was its fastest year-on-year growth since the mid-1990s and, with summer on the way, there is the promise of more strong growth to come. Good news, certainly, for the large beverage companies that dominate the sector, which reports annual sales in excess of US$1 billion. But customers´ changing tastes are keeping the giants on their toes and providing new opportunities for small producers."}
