Durante el primer año, DuocUC impartirá unos 130 cursos dirigidos al personal ejecutivo y técnico, en 50 puntos de venta y post venta de Chevrolet en todo Chile. Los cursos tratarán de temas tales como técnicas de marketing, calidad de servicios y uso de nuevas tecnologías, y serán impartidos por la Escuelas de Ingeniería y de Administración y Negocios de DuocUC, como parte de sus programas de Educación Continua. Premio Empresarial a Controladores de Compañía Naviera La Escuela de Negocios de la Universidad de los Andes de Santiago, en conjunto con la empresa de servicios financieros Credit Suisse y el Diario Financiero, han otorgado su Premio ESE a la Familia Empresaria 2006 a Sven y Wolf von Appen, dentro de cuyos intereses se encuentra el grupo naviero Ultramar. “Los von Appen son una familia empresaria consolidada en nuestro país, con una historia que cuenta con más de 50 años”, dijo Alberto López-Hermida, director de la Escuela de Negocios. López-Hermida destacó la unidad que la familia ha mantenido y la organización que ha desarrollado para evitar conflictos relacionados a los negocios. Actualmente, los intereses comerciales de la familia son administrados por Dag y Richard von Appen, hijos de Sven y Wolf respectivamente, y nietos del fundador del grupo, Albert von Appen, quien nació en Alemania y se estableció en Chile hacia fines de la década de 1930.General Motors Chile, DuocUC Sign Training Agreement General Motors Chile has announced an agreement under which DuocUC, a leading Chilean professional institute, will provide training services for all the company’s Chevrolet distribution network. During the first year of the agreement, DuocUC will teach some 130 courses for the executives and technical staff of over 50 Chevrolet sales and post-sales centers throughout Chile on topics that include marketing techniques, service quality and the use of new technologies. Business Prize for Shipping Company Controllers The Business School of Santiago’s Universidad de Los Andes, together with the Credit Suisse financial services company and the El Diario newspaper, recently awarded its 2006 Business Family of the Year Prize to Sven and Wolf von Appen, whose interests include the Ultramar shipping group. “The von Appens are a consolidated business family in our country, with a track record that goes back more than 50 years,” said Alberto López-Hermida, director of the Business School. López-Hermida highlighted the unity that the family has maintained and the organization it developed in order to avoid business-related conflicts. Today, the family’s business interests are managed by Dag and Richard von Appen, the sons of Sven and Wolf, respectively, and grandsons of the group’s founder, Albert von Appen, who was born in Germany and settled in Chile in the late 1930s.
