A delegation from the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) visited Chile recently as part of the launch of its Americas Linkage 2005 Latin America and Caribbean Program. This program, now in its sixth year, seeks to promote trade with Florida and the state’s use as a business platform. In Santiago, the delegation met with representatives of AmCham, Chile’s Manufacturers’ Association (SOFOFA), the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CCS) and Chile’s Association of Manufacturing Exporters (ASEXMA). In the meeting, AmCham president Michael Grasty drew attention to the importance of English competency and pointed out the advantages for Chilean firms of using Miami as a base from which to expand into the vast U.S. market.A delegation from the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) visited Chile recently as part of the launch of its Americas Linkage 2005 Latin America and Caribbean Program.
